NFL free agency has been insane to say the least. In arguably the greatest free agency in the history of the league, fans have seen players moving around like its a fantasy draft in the Madden video game. While we have seen guys like Josh Jacobs, Derrick Henry, and Kirk Cousins find new spots outside of their division, there have been many big name players that went to an arch division rival in this free agency.
NFL Free Agency Sets Up Many Revenge Games For 2024
The two top players that went to division rivals so far are Patrick Queen who joined the Pittsburgh Steelers and Saquon Barkley who joined the Philadelphia Eagles. It is quite shocking that these players would join their arch rivals when they also had offers from other teams outside of the division and conference. This sets up some big revenge games as these players will play their formers teams twice next season.
Many players and fans were hammering these guys for going within the division to big time rivals. This is something that isn’t new in league history as numerous notable players have gone to their rivals, but to have so many in one off season is something we have never seen before. Perhaps the rivalry for players is not the same at is it for fans and organizations. Players understand the business of the league and are just trying to secure the bag.
3 More Players That Went To Their Arch Rival
In addition to those two big name players, Jordan Poyer, Geno Stone, and Aaron Jones all went within their division as well. Poyer went from the Bills to the Miami Dolphins who have had quite a serious rivalry the last few season. Stone also left the Ravens like Queen did to stay in the division but Stone went to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Aaron Jones went from the Packers to the Minnesota Vikings. All of these players will have two revenge game sin 2024. The 2024 free agency has been insane but these players going to their arch rivals is something we have never seen before.
