NFL free agency has been one for the history books already. Specifically the star running back movement is something we have never seen before. Five of the top 10 running backs in the league will have a new home including Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles. On Tuesday Derrick Henry found his new home with the Baltimore Ravens and he sent a message to the fans about hos excited he is to compete with Lamar Jackson and this Ravens team.
Derrick Henry Sends Message To Baltimore Ravens Fans
While fans have been quick to anoint this team as a super team now that Henry has signed, Henry went to social media to share how hyped he is to join his new team.
“Flock Nation I swea it’s up!,” said the former Offensive Player of the Year.
Henry joins Lamar Jackson who was the MVP last season. Henry has been one of the best in the league at the urnning back position for half a decade now. He will add a much needed offensive weapon for Lamar. In the post season we saw Lamar try to take over down the stretch and they just weren’t able to move the ball for most of the game. Bringing in Henry will take a little pressure off Jackson, especially in the post season.
Derrick Henry Could Be Set For Another Heavy Work Load
Henry has led the league in carries multiple times in his career and he may be set up tp that again. Gus Edwards is leaving the team for the Los Angeles Chargers, which would make Henry the lead back in Baltimore. He should handle the bulk of the carries with Lamar being the main player that will take carries from him.
Lamar had his best season of his career with an Alabama Running back in Mark Ingram, and he will try to do just that again with Henry.
