As NFL training camp kicks off around the league, there are some players who are in tip top shape, and some that clearly have not been working out enough in the off season. As teams begins to go full steam ahead for the 2024 season there is one former first round pick is had quite the rough first day at practice. Specifically having a difficult time keeping his food down.
The Philadelphia Eagles revealed Saquon Barkley for the first time at practice today and fans were absolutely loving it, but a former first round pick on the team apparently could not stop puking the whole day.
Per Brenden Deeg of theScore, Eagles offensive linemen Mekhi Becton puked literally “10 times” during the first day of camp, but he continued to play the whole day.
“Mekhi Becton puked 10 times at camp and was back out the very next play. He’s gunning for the starting RG job,” Deeg wrote.
Definitely not the best day for Becton and his hopes of getting the starting job, but at the same time you have to give him credit for fighting through that, and he will only get better with each of camp. The Eagles will need all they can get from their offensive line if they hope to replace their Hall of Fame center Jason Kelce, who retired this offseason.
NFL Fans Couldn’t Believe The Yacking So Much On Day 1
Eagles fans and fans around the NFL were abit scared for Becton as throwing up non stop is incredibly unhealthy, even if he was able to get back on the field all day. Let us all hope that this will be the worst day for Becton and that it is only up from here.
“Ehhh not a great start to be yaking day 1,” one user said.
“Maybe someone may suggest he drink some water? Or something like that?” wrote another.
“10? And he still went back out there? Oh yea he’s locked in,” a third wrote.
“Is he sick or just super out of shape?” a fourth wondered.
Becton joined the team on a one year deal after being released by the Jets, the team that drafted him with their No. 11 overall pick back in 2020. He had a very promising rookie season, but after a combination of injuries and weight issues, he has not been able to show the same production since his rookie year. That was the reason the Jets decided to move on from their first round pick.
He will have to work as hard as possible if he hopes to make the starting lineup for an Eagles offensive line that is one of the best in the NFL. We will have to wait and see if he can an impact with his new team, but for now let’s just hope he gets his physical body in football shape.
