DT Christian Wilkins to the Raiders
With new Head Coach Antonio Pierce being the mastermind behind the late season surge of the Raiders defense. The Raiders defense continues to improve with the acquisition of Christian Wilkins, one of the most under-appreciated Defensive Linemen in the league. Las Vegas wasted no time in acquiring Wilkins after the Dolphins allowed Wilkins to go to free agency.
Wilkins has improved every year since entering the year, and is coming off a season-high 9 sacks, 65 total tackles, and 1 forced fumble for the 2023 season, a great fit for a Raiders team that is looking to make their defense the face of the team.
However, while I do think the Raiders made a good signing, I believe Las Vegas overpaid for his services. Wilkins would ink a 4 year deal with $84 million guaranteed. A high number for a tackle who is nearing 30 years old, and has notable issues in pass rush.
