RB Josh Jacobs to the Packers
The Green Bay Packers make another key signing with two-time Pro Bowler Josh Jacobs. Josh Jacobs was projected to be on the free agency radar after the 2023 season where Josh Jacobs in his last season with the Raiders tallied up 233 carries, 805 yards and 6 touchdowns in 13 games played.
Later after the Packers signed Jacobs, Green bay released Aaron Jones for cap space flexibility, as Aaron Jones was heading into his 30’s, a common time where running backs start to decline. The Packers decided to move on from Jones and sign a younger option in Jacobs.
Josh Jacobs has a 4 year $48 million contract with a $5 million cap hit for 2024 and over $28 million of cap hit in the final 2 years of his contract. While the Packers decision to move on is understanding for cap reasons, they have a similar struggles with the Eagles regarding the need of another running back.
