The tight end position over the years has become a very valuable part of some of dynamic offenses in the NFL. We have seen some teams utilize the tight end well, some even being a focal part of the offense. With the position growing in talent, lets look at the top 10 players at tight end.
10. I’m going to start this off with a huge sleeper and probably extremely debatable. At #10 I have Brock Bowers. The Georgia Bulldog product is the best TE prospect in this class by a long shot. He has a great build and run after catch. In the right system, Bowers could crack the top 10.
9. Kyle Pitts – Obviously Kirk Cousins is an upgrade from Desmond Ridder and Marcus Mariota. Pitts has not lived up to his hype since being drafted 4th overall by Atlanta back in 2021. With some consistent experience finally under center, look for Pitts to have a productive year.
8. Cole Kmet – With the eventual franchise quarterback (Caleb Williams) coming to Chicago, Kmet looks to take advantage of a good situation. Even though Williams may be NFL ready, there will still be a learning curve that will show that a TE is a rookie QB’s best friend.
7. T.J. Hockenson- I have Hockenson here for the simple fact that I don’t trust Sam Darnold past week 5. He has shown already he cannot be a every day starter in this league and I think Hockenson’s production will decrease because of that.
6. Mark Andrews – Andrews has shown he can be a strong TE in the NFL. As long as Andrews stays healthy he will see consistent targets. I think the addition of Derrick Henry will halt Andrews red zone production a bit, this leaving him just on the outside of the top 5.
5. George Kittle – Kittle has been a very dependable asset to San Francisco and Kyle Shanahan’s scheme. He is a great blocking TE and has the potential to go off at any moment. Look for Kittle to have another great year.
4. Trey McBride – The 3rd year TE out of Colorado State became a steady part of the offense during the 2nd half of the season. McBride looks to be the top dog in Arizona and headed for a breakout year.
3. Evan Engram – Engram rejuvenated his career when he signed with Jacksonville back in 2022. He caught a blistering 114 balls last year and heads into 2024 looking to repeat that performance. Don’t be surprised if he pushes to be the top TE by 2025.
2. Travis Kelce – It has been crazy how reliable Kelce has been in Kansas City. Even during his so called “down” year, he still ends up being a top 5 TE. It would be foolish to drop Kelce into the latter half of the top 10 until he proves otherwise.
- Sam LaPorta – At the top of the list and entering just his 2nd year in the league, the former Iowa Hawkeye took the NFL by storm last season. After having 89 catches for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns, LaPorta was quickly picked up in all fantasy leagues. He was drafted in the 2nd round by Detroit and fit in perfectly in Dan Campbell’s system. Look for an explosive sophomore year from LaPorta.

Tebow would have been top 3 if he didn’t leave the NFL.
