The Green Bay Packers are looking to upgrade their special teams this offseason. In light of the new rules for kickoffs, there is a great deal that they need to consider. Last year, they made the decision to move on from franchise leading scorer Mason Crosby. Instead of bringing him back, they handed the job to 2023 NFL Draft pick Anders Carlson. The results of this move were inconsistent at best. Carlson struggled from training camp onward, making just 87.8% of his extra point attempts. His 81.8% made field goal percentage, however, was slightly higher than Crosby’s career percentage (81.2%).…

The Green Bay Packers made a big splash in free agency by signing two-time Pro Bowler and 2022 NFL rushing leader Josh Jacobs to a four-year $48 million contract. For a few hours, it seemed like the Packers would boast one of the most dynamic backfields in the league with Jacobs and incumbent star Aaron Jones. Jones, of course, is Green Bay’s third all-time leading rusher. While he missed much of 2023 with various injuries, he finished the regular season and the Packers’ two playoff games with 100+ rushing yards, becoming the first player in team history with five consecutive…

The New York Jets are hoping that the hype surrounding their 2024 team sees a better return than the hype surrounding their 2023 squad. When New York acquired four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers, many national media personalities started talking Super Bowl aspirations. To sweeten the deal, the Jets brought in several of Rodgers’ favorite teammates from Green Bay, including wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. Unfortunately for everyone involved, including the Packers, the Jets’ 2023 campaign did not go as planned. Rodgers tore his Achilles early in Week One, meaning that Green Bay…

The Los Angeles Chargers have made quite a flurry of cost-saving moves this offseason that have left many wondering how good the 2024 team will be. While superstar pass rusher Joey Bosa has opened up $10 million of cap space by restructuring his deal, the Chargers needed to part ways with some of their best players in order to get under the salary cap. This resulted in the release of wide receiver Mike Williams, who has since signed a one-year contract with the New York Jets. Additionally, the Chargers traded Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears, effectively breaking up one…

The Minnesota Vikings are going to be one of the most intriguing teams to watch in the 2024. They recently made a big splash in free agency, signing away former rival Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones, who was released after he refused to take a pay cut. This move will certainly help bolster the Vikings’ run offense, which ranked as the fourth-worst in the NFL last season. While the run game has improved [on paper] this offseason, the passing game has become a major question mark. Four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins signed with the Atlanta Falcons in…

The New England Patriots are certainly entering a new era. When they 2024 season finally begins, they will have a new quarterback after trading former first round pick Mac Jones to his hometown team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Of course, the 2024 season will also mark the franchise’s first season without legendary head coach Bill Belichick, who led the team to six Super Bowl titles during his tenure. Under the leadership of Jerod Mayo, the Patriots, who finished last season 4-13, will look to begin rebuilding the team to its former glory. With the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL…

The Kansas City Chiefs know all about bad breakups. Just a few years ago, they traded All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in what was a controversial decision. While Hill has seen personal success with the Dolphins, it is the Chiefs who have won two Super Bowl championships since the trade went down. The initial deal and the team’s success without him has led to some perceived bad blood between the two parties. Nine-time Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce, who of course witnessed the divorce between Kansas City and Hill first-hand, also has a incredibly popular…

The Minnesota Vikings are well on their way to solidifying their starting offense in 2024. Of course, this entails measures that they did not think they would need to take at this point a year ago. At this point last year, Minnesota was coming off of a 13-4 season that saw them win the NFC North. With just a few tweaks to the roster, the Vikings should have been a Super Bowl contender in 2023. Unfortunately for them, that did not happen. Their rushing attack on offense disappeared and they were fourth-worst rushing team in the NFL last season. Kirk…

The Minnesota Vikings are going to look very different than they did in 2023, especially on offense. The reasons for this, of course, is because last season did not go as planned. Coming off of a 13-4 record and NFC North title in 2022, the Kirk Cousins-led Vikings were supposed to dominate the division again, and perhaps even compete for a Super Bowl. Unfortunately, they missed running back Dalvin Cook more than they could have thought they would. Minnesota had the fourth worst rushing offense in the NFL, averaging just 91.4 rushing yards per game in 2023. Alexander Mattison had…

The New York Jets lit the NFL on fire in the spring of 2023 when they traded for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Unfortunately, the hype that surrounded the Jets throughout the offseason and their Hard Knocks documented training camp was greater than their regular season outcome. Rodgers tore his Achilles early in Week One and New York finished 7-10 for the second year in a row. Even before the 2023 NFL season ended, there were plans being laid (or suggested by the media) for how the Jets could better build around Rodgers. While they certainly need more receiving weapons following…
