The Seattle Seahawks are looking to be a force in the NFC West with the San Francisco 49ers having holdouts, the Los Angeles Rams getting older and the Arizona Cardinals still finding themselves as a team. They made a move to be better in the future as ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Pro Bowl safety Julian Love has agreed to a three-year extension worth $36 million.
This deal would have him tied for ninth place in the NFL in terms of annual average value (AAV) of his contract with Arizona’s Jalen Thompson and Cleveland’s Grant Delpit. He stepped up in his first season with the Seattle Seahawks last season as he played in all 17 games and recorded 123 total tackles (85 solo, 38 assisted) with 10 pass deflections, four interceptions, a pair of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Can the Seattle Seahawks make the playoffs this season?
The Seattle Seahawks missed the playoffs last season, despite going 9-8 so they need to step up. With a new coach in Mike Macdonald taking over, this team seemingly will be in a rebuild. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the team has a 7.5 win total.
They need to step up and having quarterback Geno Smith under center once again, the team is going to need to showcase their ability to win games with a pretty tough schedule overall. Their defense last season was 25th in the NFL with 23.6 points per game allowed and need to get closer to the middle of the NFL if they want to be considered a team in playoff contention.
