Kansas City Chiefs Star Travis Kelce Donates $100,000 to Family of 2 Children Shot at Super Bowl Parade

The Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII parade went from a joyous celebration involving nearly one million people to a horrendous crime scene thanks to a small group of individuals. After the parade and rally had ended, players and fans were still celebrating together.

An argument between a small group of people turned violent and shots were fired. As those same players and fans fled for cover, one woman, a local DJ named Elizabeth (Lisa) Lopez Galvan, was killed. 22 others, including nine children ranging in ages from eight to 15, suffered gunshot wounds.

Kansas City Chiefs Players Want to Help Victims

In the hours that followed, multiple Chiefs players, including Patrick Mahomes, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Travis Kelce, posted messages of well-wishes and solidarity on social media. Mahomes has already visited some of the victims in the hospital and MVS is working with Children’s Mercy Hospital to provide whatever aid the kids who were wounded need.

Earlier today, it was reported that Taylor Swift, the popstar girlfriend of Kelce, donated $100,000 to the GoFundMe memorial for Lisa Lopez Galvan. Hours later, it was reported that Kelce made a six-figure donation of his own as well.

Travis Kelce followed his girlfriend’s lead in the donation department — he just donated the exact same amount Taylor Swift gave to victims of the Kansas City shooting.

The Chiefs tight end shelled out $100,000 to two children who were shot during Wednesday’s incident — specifically, two young daughters of the Reyes family … who’d started a GoFundMe of their own in recent days to help cover costs for their severe injuries.
