Green Bay Packers Add Kicker Brayden Narveson to the Week 3 Injury Report

The Green Bay Packers know who their starting quarterback will be against the Tennessee Titans in Week Three of the 2024 NFL regular season. They just are not telling anyone who it is yet. Jordan Love missed Green Bay’s Week Two win over the Indianapolis Colts due to a sprained MCL. He sustained the injury in the final seconds of the Packers’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Malik Willis, the former Titans quarterback, helped lead the Packers to victory in Week Two and could start again if needed in his return to Tennessee. Love practiced all week, though, and is still listed as questionable.

Green Bay did elevate quarterback Sean Clifford from the practice squad on Saturday afternoon, but have not announced whether Love will play or not.

While the Packers may not have let the public know who the starting quarterback will be on Sunday, everyone is well-aware that Brayden Narveson will be their kicker. However, he has been added to the injury report as well with a right-foot injury, per the team’s website.

The good news is that he does not have a game designation listed (questionable, doubtful, etc.), so he is definitely going to play against the Titans. One has to wonder, though, how a right foot injury might affect the right-footed kicker, who has already missed two field goals this year.

Narveson, of course, was named Green Bay’s starting kicker when the team claimed him off of waivers from the Titans. Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph had competed for the role in training camp, but Carlson was cut when the roster was trimmed to 53 players. Joseph was released when Green Bay signed Narveson.

Joseph was recently signed by the New York Giants after spending a week on the Detroit Lions’ practice squad.

While there are several players without a designation for Week Three, the Packers will be without some of their key contributors. For example, first-round pick Jordan Morgan has already been ruled out with a shoulder injury that he suffered in Week Two. He had previously hurt the same shoulder during training camp.

The full Packers’ injury report is as follows:

  • Kenny Clark (toe)- No designation
  • Kingsley Enagbare (groin)- No designation
  • Josh Jacobs (back)- No designation
  • Elgton Jenkins (illness/glute)- No designation

  • Jayden Reed (calf)- No designation
  • Zach Tom (quad)- No designation
  • Carrington Valentine (ankle)- Doubtful
  • Rasheed Walker (shoulder)- No designation

With Valentine being doubtful, the Packers also elevated cornerback Robert Rochell from the practice squad to their active roster.
