One of the biggest questions in the NFL heading into the Week Three slate of games on Sunday is whether or not Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will be able to play against the Tennessee Titans. Love suffered a sprained MCL in the closing seconds of the Packers’ Week One loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and had to sit out of their 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week Two.
Unlike last week when he did not practice at all, Love was a limited participant in practice all week in Green Bay. His status for the upcoming game in Tennessee has been questionable.
However, one NFL insider has found out that the Packers have already made their decision.
The Green Bay Packers Have Made a Decision on Jordan Love, but Will Not Reveal What It Is
According to an article by NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Packers already know if Love is going to play against the Titans. They just do not want Tennessee to know what their decision is until the last possible moment.
She wrote, “The Packers and Jordan Love made their decision on his status Friday but don’t want the Titans to know their final call.”
Of course, their “final call” will become more apparent later this afternoon when teams announce players that will be promoted from the practice squad for tomorrow’s games.
If Green Bay elevates quarterback Sean Clifford from their practice squad for tomorrow, it will be a fair indication that Love is not going to play. The Packers simply will not carry three quarterbacks on their active roster for the game. While they could elevate Clifford and not activate him, it would be a waste of an elevation.
Players can only be elevated three times without being added to the 53-man roster.
Edit: The Packers elevated Sean Clifford from the practice squad to their active roster on Saturday afternoon.
#Packers are elevating QB Sean Clifford from practice squad to active roster for gameday. Not sure this says anything definitive about Jordan Love’s availability tomorrow in Tennessee, other than they have some depth insurance.

As one can see from Ryan Wood’s post, this does not mean that the Packers have ruled Love out for the game against the Titans.
Jordan Love Almost Played for the Green Bay Packers in Week Two
In a recent interview with former Packers wide receiver (turned NFL analyst) James Jones, running back Josh Jacobs revealed that the players all thought that Love was going to be able to play against the Colts.

“You know, what’s crazy is we thought Jordan was going to play last week,” Jacobs said in a response to a question about whether or not Green Bay would run the ball against the Titans as much as they did against the Colts.
Malik Willis started in place of Love, completing 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards, a touchdown, no interceptions, and a 126.8 passer rating. He also was second on the team with 41 rushing yards.
