Looking to build off their first win of the season last week, the Green Bay Packers head to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans. It is unclear if Jordan Love will play in this game after being a limited participant each of the last three days. The Titans have struggled early on and sit at 0-2. It is next to impossible to make the postseason if you start 0-3. Can the Packers get an early season road win? Kickoff is at noon CST on FOX. Here is a preview of Sunday’s game.
Do the Green Bay Packers have a Similar Game Plan Regardless who Starts?
The Green Bay Packers will start Jordan Love, who will not likely be 100%, or start Malik Willis for the second straight week. Last week against the Colts, Willis was a game manager, but was effective his legs and his arm when he had to be. If it is Willis, I think we will see some more shots done the field, but a similar game plan.
If it’s Love, would he be a game manager as well. I think tat this point, you have to think he will be in this game. I like the athletes this Packers offense has and they showed last week they can win based on their talent. The status of Love likely won’t be decided until 90 minutes before kickoff.
Put the Game in the Hands of Will Levis
The second year starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans has committed some questionable turnovers each of the first two games. The interception against the Bears in week one ended up costing the Titans the game. It’s clear after only two games that head coach Brian Callahan is frustrated with his starting quarterback.
Levis does have the tools and potential to be a good starting quarterback in the NFL. The decision-making jst has to be better. After a really good defensive showing last week, I have to imagine green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is licking his chops getting another chance to generate more turnovers and take over this game. If the Packers can get to Levis early, the turnovers will happen.
Prediction
There should be a good Green Bay Packers crowd at Nissan Stadium. It’s a popular place for any opposing fan to visit. I think that could also play a role.
I like the Packers in this game regardless who the starter is. Expect Green Bay to try and win the time of possession battle and establish the running game. After a great game from Josh Jacobs last week, I think Matt LaFleur will try and get him involved early and often. Jacobs is also one of of the many playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.
The Titans want to run the ball too. Tony Pollard is a solid running back and is helping the room average five yards a carry. The Packers linebackers need to be a difference in this game as they have struggled overall as a group the first two games.
If Will Levis has a great game, so be it. I like the Green Bay defense generating a few turnovers and the offense getting points when they need to. I expect another low-scoring game, but a win for the Green Bay Packers and a 2-1 start to the year.
