I AM SO GODDAMN SORRY, Y’ALL!! SpikedJohnnyB let you down last week with my college football best bets. I failed you. And credit to me, I am apologizing for it. I am still 57-35-1 overall on my picks and 23-6 on my best bets, but I failed you last week. It won’t happen again. There is a full apology on the Spiked College Football Show and I have my full card this week on Units Only Go Up. We are going 3-0 on my college football best bets and 9-0 overall!!
Now, look, I know the video is epic and I am entertaining as hell. I am not going to write this college football best bets blog and break down every game I pick. I will, however, give you a few of my very favorite plays and go into depth of why I like them so much.
College Football Best Bets: Favorites
Wake Forest -4.5 vs. North Carolina
This line may confuse the newer gambler. How can an 8-1 team be underdogs to a team who is coming off of two straight ACC loses. Well, let me educate y’all for a minute. The Demon Deacons had a horrible game on offense at Louisville and their defense didn’t show up at North Carolina State. Sam Hartman at home has scored over 40 points 4 times this year. Wake Forest just plays better at Truist Field, and I think this is a very high scoring game. North Carolina can’t stop anyone and they won’t be able to stop Hartman, A.T. Perry and the rest of the high powered Deacons offense.
LSU -3 @ Arkansas
This might be the easiest college football best bet of the year. Everyone thinks this is a let down spot for the Tigers at Arkansas. That is not the case with this team. Brian Kelly throughout his career does not allow his teams to have let down games after big wins. LSU is fighting for an SEC title. Not only that, Arkansas has a very bad defense. Jayden Daniels is going to run and throw all over the Razorbacks. LSU might give up a few yards on the ground to KJ Jefferson and the backs, but the pass game will be taken away. This screams LSU in an absolute route.
College Football Best Bets: Underdogs
Purdue +6.5 & ML +210 @ Illinois
I hate to say this about the storybook Big 10 Illini, but I think they get got here. I love the Aiden O’Connell to Charlie Jones connection in this game. Illinois does have a great defense. They can stop the run and have shut down a lot of the passing attacks they have played this year. They have not played a duo that is this dynamic yet. I know that Chase Brown can run the rock and Tommy Devito is a perfect Quarterback for Brett Bielema’s offense. I just think this game comes down to big plays on the offensive side and the Boilermakers have that potential. Hammer the Boilermakers; points and moneyline.
I would like to apologize again for my awful showing in my college football best bets last week. I promise you that will never happen again. I am still your baby mama’s favorite gambler, your wifey’s favorite bookie, and your girlfriend’s favorite blogger. The record on the year is 57-35-1 which is still over 61% on the year; so relax.
