Patrick Mahomes probably went to bed last night with the biggest smile, as his team, the Kansas City Chiefs traded up in the first round to select Xavier Worthy No 28 overall. The entire NFL took note of the speedy receiver when he broke the 40-yard dash record at the 2024 combine. One of the players to chime in on that record breaking run was none other than Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes Loves The Kansas City Chiefs First Round Pick
This is a match made in heaven as Worthy, who is undersized, can be utilized perfectly for his speed in the Chiefs system. Andy Reid has been able to bring out the best in speedy guys and Worthy should bring a much needed deep threat and big play maker the Chiefs have been missing.
Worthy was a projected first round pick after his record breaking combine in which he ran a 4.21 40-yard dash which broke John Ross’ record. Mahomes, who congratulated Worthy after his combine run, will now have the fastest receiver ever on his team.
Mahomes quickly took to social media after the back to back Super Bowl champions traded up to draft Worthy by simply posted the sprinting emoji.

The three time Super Bowl MVP can’t wait to get on the practice field with Worthy to see what they can do.
Can Xavier Worthy Be The Next Tyreek Hill?
After Worthy’s legendary combine record, many were quick to make comparisons to the Cheetah himself, Tyreek Hill. While worthy has not spoken to the media since being drafted, he must be through the moon to go play with Mahomes.
Even before the team drafted him, Worthy said that he would be a perfect fit for Mahomes and the Chiefs:
“Just the way Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs improvise and use you. They had Tyreek Hill,” Worthy said. “The way they used him, I feel like that would be a perfect fit for me.“
While there is no reason to think that Worthy can ever be Hill, even if he is just one quarter of Tyreek, the back to back Super Bowl champions will be looking incredibly strong. Worthy can add a new element to the Chiefs offense which will just make defenses even more scared to face the two defending champions.
