Every week of college football is another week closer to the end of the season. It also means it is time for Monday’s Big 10 Power Rankings. Each and every week SpikedJohnnyB has his power rankings out for the PAC 12, SEC, Big 10, Big 12 and ACC. The host of Spiked College Football Show and Units Only Go Up ranks every single power five team. Where did your team fall this week?

Big 10 Power Rankings: Playoff Contenders

    #1 Ohio State

Can’t deny that the Buckeyes didn’t exactly look amazing last week. I don’t usually make excuses, but fifty miles per hour winds and rain might have played a key role in that at Ryan Field. Heisman hopeful CJ Stroud could not throw the ball in those conditions. So he did what any great player does when faced with adversity, he overcame it and used his legs to get the win. Again, it was not pretty and a lot of people will over react to the final score. Not me. In those conditions, getting out with a win means a lot and that is what they did.

    #2 Michigan

Now in the exact opposite of the team at 1, Michigan had no excuses versus Rutgers. Yes, I know it was an away game as well, but there wasn’t crazy weather. The Wolverines looked very beatable in the first half versus a very bad Rutgers team. Any halfway decent team capitalizes and wins that game. Good thing for Michigan, they were playing Rutgers and blew them out in the second half. I am still very unsure about this team overall. I know they can’t throw the ball and if someone stops the run and has a good offense themselves, the Wolverines can easily get embarrassed. I am not buying this team, but the rest of this conference is terrible.

Big 10 Power Rankings: Good Teams

    #3 Penn State

It pains me to have this team so high in the Big 10 Power Rankings. In every other conference, this team would be no higher than sixth. But the Big 10 is just so goddamn bad that a team with an offense this bad and a defense that decides when it wants to play gets to be third. Now I am being a little hard on the Nittany Lions, they are a solid team. It is just infuriating that there is such a leap up in this league from the best teams to the average teams. Is James Franklin good? He will have 10 wins this year, but is he good?

    #4 Illinois

The Illini lost to a very bad team this past week and that sucks. Look, I knew that they were not an elite level team, but they shouldn’t lose to Michigan State this year. This team is not world beaters and would be a mid level team in the other conferences, but I like rooting for them. I love Chase Brown running the ball and Tommy Devito slinging it at QB. I don’t know what becomes of this team the rest of the way. They should be the West representative in the Big 10 title game. I just hope Bielema keeps the boys focused and this doesn’t start a downward spiral.

    #5 Maryland

Thought you were special, but you can’t lose to a bad Wisconsin team.

    #6 Iowa

Horrible offense, then you start scoring points the last two weeks. What is going on in Iowa City?

    #7 Wisconsin

Keep Jim Leonard as your coach. He will win you eight to nine games a year. Also, get a new offensive coordinator.

    #8 Purdue

Love Aiden O’Connell and Charlie Jones; the only reason to watch this team.

    #9 Minnesota

Mo Ibrahim will be a hell of an NFL player. I think PJ Fleck will restock players and give a run at the Big 10 West soon.

Big 10 Power Rankings: Very Bad Teams

    #10 Michigan State

Well, at least they won a game and maybe Mel Tucker can keep his job for another week. He’s not very good.
