The Carolina Panthers, who were the worst team in the NFL last season finishing with a 2-15 record are in a rebuilding stage after firing some of their coaching staff including Head Coach Frank Reich.  Carolina will also not hold a first-round pick in this year’s draft due to the trade that acquired last season’s first overall pick in Bryce Young.  So, chances at strengthening their core will need to come through free agency. The Kansas City Chiefs, who won their second straight Super Bowl have expiring contracts to key players on both sides of the ball this off-season.  One of those contracts is to superstar defensive lineman Chris Jones, who is the anchor of this Chiefs defense and is expected to receive a massive new deal. The New England Patriots, who are currently in a re-building phase after parting ways with long-time Head Coach and 6-time Super Bowl Champion Bill Belichick. The Detroit Lions, who were one game away from reaching the Super Bowl last season have found a new culture under Head Coach Dan Campbell.  The Lions won the NFC North for the first time since divisions were realigned in 2002 and made the NFC Championship game after a three-decade drought. The Miami Dolphins, who made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons under Head Coach Mike McDaniel are heading into next season as one of the favorites to win their division.  The Dolphins were one of the highest scoring teams in the league during the regular season putting up just under 28 points per game on average with Tua Tagovailoa under center. The Minnesota Vikings have signed former NFL veteran Josh McCown to be their next quarterbacks coach, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.  McCown, who played in the NFL for 16 seasons with a dozen different franchises has been around the league since 2002 and transitioned to a coach after retiring as a player. The Atlanta Falcons, who missed the playoffs after ending their season with a 7-10 record struggled on the offensive side of the ball and have made multiple roster moves this off-season.  The most recent one being the release of veteran tight end Jonnu Smith according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who played a big role in former Head Coach Arthur Smith’s scheme this past season. The Denver Broncos, who finished their 2023 campaign with an 8-9 record have dealt with drama since benching Russell Wilson for the final 2 games of the season.  The Broncos were firmly in the playoff race heading into Week 17 and many fans speculated as to why he was benched.  Turns out it was a financial decision due to the injury clause embedded in his contract.
