It’s hard to look at the positives in a game like the Patriots played against the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, but you can’t deny the game DeVante Parker had. Turnovers killed any momentum they had and the star quarterback was injured and expected to miss some time. However, despite all that, there was at least one glaring positive from the game. That would be DeVante Parker. The veteran eighth-year wide receiver out of Louisville was traded to New England from Miami for a third-round pick in the 2023 Draft. In his first seven seasons with Miami, he accounted for…

There’s no disputing that Kansas is a basketball school, and that football is typically considered to be an afterthought. Despite this, the Kansas football team is trying to prove the doubters wrong. And they’re off to a great start. In the football-powered Big 12 Conference, Kansas typically finds itself towards the bottom of the standings.    Every so often, they’ll reach the national spotlight when they take on the conference powers such as Texas, Oklahoma, and more recently, Baylor. However, something is much different this time around. Kansas is actually… good? Right now, they’re leading the Big 12. In football.…

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones threw three interceptions in the Patriots’ 37-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. On his third one, Jones appeared to be injured after his ankle was landed on by Ravens DE Calais Campbell. It’s been diagnosed as a high ankle sprain and it should keep Jones out for some time. Although he is expected to miss some time, the injury has not been described as potentially season-ending. Despite the interceptions, Jones was having a good game. He ran in a touchdown and led some solid scoring drives that resulted in the Patriots and Ravens trading…

Michigan QB Cade McNamara saw only two snaps in Michigan’s 59-0 rout of an overmatched UConn squad. Unfortunately for him, he’d probably love to forget the results of them. In a game that saw eight Michigan quarterbacks take the field, McNamara was first off the bench to relieve the starter J.J. McCarthy. In his two snaps, he was sacked once and found receiver Ronnie Bell for an 18-yard gain. On that 18 yard completion, McNamara was hit hard, and forced out of the game with a leg injury. Coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t see the injury as season-ending, but he did…

New England Patriots RB Ty Montgomery is headed to injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the team elevated WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey up from the practice squad to the active roster. Montgomery injured his right knee in the final preseason game against the Raiders. Even though he was carted off the field, positive developments throughout the next two weeks led to him being active for the game against Miami. Montgomery, who will miss at least the next four games, served as the team’s primary running back on passing downs. He scored the only Patriots touchdown of the…

In a loss of this sort, it’s hard to look back on the game and find anything that went well for the Patriots. They were outplayed in all three phases of the game as Bill Belichick would notoriously say. The offense struggled to get going after the initial drive, the defense gave up a lot of third downs, and the Patriots committed plenty of turnovers. The turnovers would prove costly, as the Patriots would give up ten points off of turnovers, including a strip sack of quarterback Mac Jones that gave the Dolphins a ten-point advantage early in the game.…

In a game that extended into the early hours of Sunday, September 11, Michigan was dominant in all facets of the game in a 56-10 rout of Hawaii. The fourth-ranked Wolverines came into the contest with a quarterback controversy and by the end of it, there was little doubt which way in the debate they were leaning. Sophomore quarterback JJ McCarthy got the nod as starting quarterback and he did not disappoint. On 12 pass attempts, McCarthy completed 11 of them for 229 yards and three touchdown passes. His only incompletion came on a dropped pass by receiver Ronnie Bell.…

It’s only halftime in this 42-0 throbbing of 0-2 Hawaii, but it should be clear by now who the true starting quarterback should be for the 2022 Michigan Wolverines. Assuming JJ does not play the second half (and he shouldn’t), JJ McCarthy has done nothing to convince people that anyone other than himself should be running the offense. JJ threw one incomplete pass in the first quarter, a drop by Ronnie Bell. He’s 11 for 12 for 229 yards and three touchdowns. All in the first half. Granted his performance comes against Hawaii, a team that came into today’s contest…

You can never have too much depth on a football team, and the New England Patriots proved just that by reuniting with three-time Super Bowl champion offensive tackle Marcus Cannon. Cannon spent nine seasons with the team from 2011-2019. He started 69 games in that span. Cannon opted out of the 2020 season due to Covid concerns before joining the Houston Texans by means of the trade for the 2021 season. In four games played with the team, he started them all. Cannon adds a lot of experience and depth to a Patriots offensive line that appears to be struggling with…

On Wednesday, The New England Patriots announced the two games in which they will be wearing their red throwback uniforms.  The Patriots donned the iconic look occasionally from 2009-12, but the NFL’s “one-shell” rule eliminated any possibility of wearing them for the 2013 season. However, the elimination of the rule has opened the door for the Patriots to bring the classic look back, and they capitalized on the opportunity to do so. The uniforms will be worn during home games against the Detroit Lions in week 5, and the Buffalo Bills in week 13. The Bills game will be televised…
