When Tyreek Hill got injured late in the first quarter of their Week 14 showdown against the Tennessee Titans, he thought he was done for the night. However, a message from his wife Keeta Vaccaro might have motivated him to return to the game.
For those who missed it, Hill was forced to exit with about three minutes to go in the opening quarter after he suffered a lower-body injury following a hit by Sean Murphy-Bunting. Based on the video replays of the incident, the Dolphins wideout’s left foot was caught under the body of the Titans cornerback.

It was initially believed that Hill sustained a knee injury after he was seen favoring it after the hit. More concerns started after the superstar wide receiver struggled to get up and had to be helped. Later on, however, the Dolphins announced that Hill suffered from an ankle injury and was questionable to return.
Considering how much Hill was in pain, many didn’t expect him to return to the contest. The player himself thought the same as well, though a text message from his wife changed things.
“I came in at halftime, I texted my wife, I was like, ‘Bro, this (expletive) hurt. I need an ankle massage tonight.’ And she’s like, ‘You’d better get your ass back in that game, dawg.’ I was like, ‘All right,'” Hill hilariously detailed in his postgame presser, via David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Tyreek Hill was able to return in the third quarter, and the Miami Dolphins’ offense came alive at that point after slowing down when he was gone.
Miami trailed 13-10 at the end of the third, but they found themselves up by 14 at 27-13 in the final quarter after a couple of miscues from the Titans. Unfortunately, the team wasn’t able to sustain it as they collapsed and handed Tennessee the game.
The Dolphins lost 28-27. Hill failed to record a touchdown, finishing with four receptions for 61 yards, resulting to a team-high 15.2 yards per catch.
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa Gets Backlash After Tyreek Hill Injury
After Tyreek Hill got injured, the Miami Dolphins’ offense just wasn’t the same. The 29-year-old wide receiver has been Tua Tagovailoa’s most reliable weapon on offense, and without him, the QB appeared to be out of sorts.
Miami failed to score in the first half following Hill’s injury, which sparked plenty of criticisms on Tagovailoa.
Here are some of the meme reactions trolling Tagovailoa during the game:

It’s definitely quite the forgettable day for the Dolphins. But hey, at least Hill seems fine and shouldn’t miss games as the season winds down.
