DeAndre Hopkins couldn’t be any prouder of Tennessee Titans teammate Will Levis after the quarterback powered them to the Monday Night Football upset of the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins entered the Week 14 game as heavy favorites. After all, they were 9-3 on the season and in contention for the top seed in the AFC. On the other hand, the Titans were a 4-8 team that’s still looking for its identity amid what has been a rough campaign.
With that said, only the Dolphins faithful expected them to really pull off an upset against the Dolphins. But they did, and a ton of credit should be given to Levis for his incredible performance throughout.
Levis finished with 327 yards and one touchdown against one interception. He completed 23 of his 38 passes as well, while rushing four times for 15 yards. One of his best highlights came in the second quarter when he connected with Hopkins for an epic 45-yard reception.

“I saw a dawg out here today. That kid is going to be great. I’m always in his ear, trying to help him. I know he’s still got a lot in his tank,” DeAndre Hopkins said of Will Levis, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. “I’ma still be on him when we get back. But Will showed heart. I love competing and playing with him.”
Will Levis Leads Tennessee Titans’ Epic Comeback
Those who witnessed Will Levis’ performance on Monday wouldn’t have been surprised by DeAndre Hopkins’ praise of the rookie quarterback. After all, the former Kentucky standout fueled the team’s massive comeback in the fourth quarter.
The Titans entered the fourth quarter leading 13-10. However, a pair of miscues early in the final quarter saw them trail 27-13 with just four minutes and half remaining in the contest.
Levis and the Titans didn’t give up, of course. The 24-year-old signal-caller started the comeback with a 75-yard drive featuring nine plays. Hopkins topped it with a three-yard reception before they went for the two-point conversion that Nick Westbrook-Ikhine caught.
Now trailing by just six points, the Titans got another chance after a Dolphins three-and-out in the following drive. Levis propelled Tennessee to 64 yards on four plays before Derrick Henry sealed the game with a three-yard touchdown for the 28-27 lead and the eventual win.
True enough, without Levis’ calm and composed performance, the come-from-behind victory wouldn’t have been possible.
The game is a blueprint for Levis on what he can achieve in the NFL. As he continues his progression, hopes are high that Hopkins’ prediction on a future great will come true.
