It’s that time of the week again, with the NFL and Roger Goodell dropping the hammer with fines and suspensions for last week’s actions. Per NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, the league has fined San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw $10,927 for taking down Philadelphia Eagles wideout DeVonta Smith via bodyslam in Week 13.

Greenlaw will receive his first monetary penalty of the 2023 season. However, this year, teammates George Kittle, Trent Williams, Jauan Jennings, Aaron Brooks, and Deommodore Lenoir have received fines.
San Francisco 49ers Dre Greenlaw: Sparks Near Brawl in Week 13
Greenlaw bodyslammed Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith to the ground after the latter scampered for a 13-yard catch. The Eagles sideline took exception to Greenlaw’s action, specifically security director Dom DiSandro. Greenlaw and DiSandro shared words before the former reached out with his fist toward DiSandro. Greenlaw got ejected, while DiSandro also received the boot. However, DiSandro will not have sideline access in their team’s Week 14 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Greenlaw: Amid Career Season
Greenlaw is in his fifth NFL season, all with the 49ers. He has registered 86 tackles, five TFLs, four passes defended, and 1.5 sacks in 11 games this season. The Arkansas product posted a career-high 127 tackles in 2022 but is pacing to break that number this season. Greenlaw had seven tackles before being ejected last Sunday.
