Joe Milton served as a placeholder last season for the Tennessee Volunteers but performed admirably under center for the Vols. The future is now, as highly-touted phenom Nico Iamaleava is set to take hold of the starting quarterback position. Iamaleava got a small taste in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl versus Iowa, completing 12-of-19 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for three more scores in the Vols 35-0 Victory over the Hawkeyes. It’s worth noting that Iowa only allowed over 20 points on three occasions last season, so this was very eye-opening. Iamaleava has Knoxville buzzing with…

The Auburn Tigers enter spring practice for the second year under head coach Hugh Freeze, and the quarterback position for the Tigers was pretty dreadful last year. The good news is at least Payton Thorne now has a full season under his belt, and red zone target Rivaldo Fairweather returns along with running back Jarquez Hunter. However, leading wide receiver Ja’Varrius Johnson is gone, and leading returning receivers Jay Fair and Caleb Burton only combined for just 550 yards receiving in 2023. The Alabama Crimson Tide’s loss of long-time head coach Nick Saban will certainly be felt around Alabama and the SEC as a whole. Good news is, the hiring of Kalen DeBoer should offer an uptick even for the already powerful Crimson Tide offensive attack. Alabama ranked 58th in the nation in total offense last year, while DeBoer’s Washington Huskies were ranked 12th. How DeBoer can amp up the Tide offense will probably be the biggest story to follow this spring. How well and quickly can coach DeBoer implement his system with a completely different group of players than the one…

The Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback room will look completely different this season. This could be a good change, as Vandy has struggled heavily in recent seasons to find stability at the quarterback position. Diego Pavia, and his backup Blaze Berlowitz both arrive from New Mexico State, and these two will battle another transfer former Utah quarterback Nate Johnson for the starting job. The Commodores return Sedrick Alexander at running back and Quincy Skinner at wide receiver, so whoever takes the starting role will have some very capable options. Vanderbilt Commodores Head Coach Clark Lea Doesn’t Want To Make A Decision Just…

The Mississippi State Bulldogs rebuild is under new head coach Jeff Lebby, and it starts at quarterback. Former starter Will Rogers entered the transfer portal, ultimately ending up at the University of Washington. Blake Shapen joins from Baylor University and seems to have the starting position locked down for the 2024 season. Shapen has completed over 62 percent of his passes during his collegiate career. Shapen passed for nearly 2,200 yards last season despite not missing four contests due to injury. There is backup Mike Wright who brings wheels and saw action last season due to injury, but coach Lebby…

The LSU Football Team will attempt to replace arguably the top pass-catching duo a season ago in Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas. The duo accounted for a staggering 2,746 yards and 31 touchdowns through the air with Heisman winner Jayden Daniels under center. Also this LSU defense struggled in 2023, ranking 82nd nationally allowing 28 points per game. Coach Brian Kelly overhauled his defensive staff, bringing in some big names to turn this ship around, but there’s a long way to go. LSU Football Team In Need Of Good Replacement For Heisman Winner Jayden Daniels LSU Football’s annual Spring game…

The Spencer Rattler era for the South Carolina Gamecocks has officially ended, and the Gamecocks are searching for their next star starting quarterback. South Carolina spring practice is in full swing and there will be plenty of competition within the quarterback room to determine who will lead this team’s offense during the 2024 season. The quarterback competition will be between redshirt freshman LaNorris Sellers, a beastly quarterback with a rocket arm who can also outrun defenders on the ground coming from a soccer background, or former Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford. Will South Carolina Gamecocks LaNorris Sellers Live Up To All…

The Kentucky Wildcats have a very strong receiving corps going into the 2024 season, giving quarterback Brock Vandagriff an excellent chance of finally having a breaking out this season at a collegiate level. The graduate transfer from Georgia played behind players like Stenson Bennett, and Carson Beck with the Bulldogs. Vandagriff now has the chance to write his own final chapter at the University of Kentucky, however, the job is not guaranteed. Beau Allen returns to Kentucky along with freshman Cutter Boley. Still, the experience of Vandagriff gives him the upper hand and he should get to reap the benefits…

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Antoine Winfield Jr. was one of the best (if not the best) safeties in the league in 2023. The Buccaneers have benefitted from his stellar play since drafting him 45th overall in the 2020 NFL draft. Now, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there is a sense of extreme optimism that the Buccaneers and Winfield will reach an agreement and get this done. Winfield has been working towards a new deal for a while now that would make him the NFL’s highest-paid safety, which is currently Derwin James of the Los Angeles Chargers. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Working…
