New Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields had a message for the Chiefs Bears following reports of his trade Saturday evening. The Bears sent Fields to the Steelers in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2025 season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers got a steal for their QB
The sixth-round pick can turn into a fourth-round pick based on playing time. But given the fact that Fields will be Russell Wilson’s backup next season, it’s doubtful the Bears will receive the fourth-round pick.
Justin Fields sent a message to Chicago
Even though Fields isn’t heading into a situation where he will be the starter, the fourth-year quarterback said in his statement Saturday he is ready for his next adventure. Fields thanked the city of Chicago and the Bears:
“Can’t say thank you enough to the city of Chicago for taking me in and embracing me. Thank you to the entire Bears organization and ownership for allowing me the opportunity to be part of such a historic franchise. But most of all thank you to my all my brothers that I played with.
You all were the reason I attacked each day the way I did. I can’t thank you all enough for what y’all have meant to me over the last 3 years through the ups and downs. I wish each one of you nothing but success. Ready for this next chapter!”

Fields needed a break from the Bears
Fields’ path to becoming a starter for Pittsburgh (or any NFL team) won’t be easy, but he has a good attitude about moving on from Chicago. Frankly, he needed a clean break from the Bears.
It’s possible Fields could get an opportunity to impress the Steelers coaching staff during the 2024 season.

This a bad joke and you made a mockery of a true wonderful man with real class and devotion to his persona I am devastated by the low return a slap in the face It’s like trading Walter Payton to the Green Bay Packers and as a throw in they get Dick Butkis then loose Super bowl to Green Bay all wrapped up to me I hope and believe Justin will turn into a great QB and comes back to beat the Bears like Green Bay does often and always as I know many Bears fans have become Steeler fans I can’t believe after 71 years a Bears fan this trade affects me that much It’s also the fact that I have taken a huge dislike for his replacement CW that muck but I think I will feal better when he will be disliked by players and the trouble he will give the whole organization Mark my words but more than anything else he is a bust
