There are not many former players as beloved by Green Bay Packers fans as wide receiver Randall Cobb. Selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Cobb spent 10 years with the Packers organization (in two stints), becoming one of the best wide receivers in franchise history.
During his 13-year NFL career, Cobb spent one season with each of the following teams: the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and New York Jets. For his career, he racked up 630 receptions for 7,624 yards and 54 touchdowns. He also has 903 punt return yards, two punt return touchdowns, 1,926 kick return yards, and one kick return touchdown.
Cobb spent last season with the Jets, where he signed so he could play at least one more year with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback. He ended up having the worst season of his professional career, catching just five passes for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Reports Earlier on Thursday Stated that Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Randall Cobb Retired from the NFL
The Jets, obviously, did not want to bring Cobb back in 2024 due to his poor season last year without Rodgers (who was injured). He also must not have received any free agent offers from other teams because he remains unsigned.
Earlier today, a report was released stating that Cobb was retiring from the NFL to pursue a career in sports media with the SEC Network:

Cobb played his college ball at the University of Kentucky, where he accumulated 2,974 all-purpose yards and 35 total touchdowns throughout his career.
Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Randall Cobb Has Not Officially Retired from the NFL
While many Packers fans were bidding one of their favorite players best wishes in his retirement, Cobb took to social media to correct one important fact about the report: he is not retired.
Not officially retired but I’m excited for this new opportunity! Catch me and @AlyssaLang on Out of Pocket Wednesdays on the SEC Network! https://t.co/FbsIKCQK3G

As mentioned, Cobb is still a free agent. However, he wants to be available if the right NFL opportunity comes along during training camp, or even the regular season.
Since Cobb has not won a Super Bowl yet, he could be a valuable addition to an NFL Playoff team late in the year if they need depth at the wide receiver position.
His show on the SEC Network is supposed to air on Wednesdays, so he will have Sundays open.
