The Buffalo Bills were one of two teams to have the same starting five offensive line all season long in 2023. They had the same starters for the regular season and the two playoff games, and all five played at least 96% of offensive snaps. However, this didn’t mean every player was 100% last season as their tackle suffered an injury.
The Buffalo Bills tackle suffered a shoulder injury in 2023
Spencer Brown played every regular season game last season, representing 99.74% of snaps. He had 40 pressures, 30 hurries, five hits, five sacks allowed, nine penalties, and a 68.1 PFF grade.
He played every snap in the Wild Card and the Divisional Round despite suffering a torn labrum in his shoulder against the Chiefs. He then dislocated his shoulder on the car ride home as well. He had his shoulder fixed during the offseason.
He underwent offseason surgery
Brown underwent surgery to repair his injured right shoulder during the offseason. He was limited during OTAs and mandatory minicamp as he worked off to the side, conducting individual drills.

Rookies reported to training camp on Tuesday, July 16, while veterans report on Tuesday, July 23. According to Ryan O’Halloran for The Buffalo News, Brown will be fully healthy for training camp next Tuesday.
“At youth football camp he’s co-hosting with Dalton Kincaid, #Bills RT Spencer Brown says he’ll be full go when camp starts next week after offseason shoulder surgery.”
The former third-rounder enters a pivotal 2024 season
Brown enters a pivotal 2024 season because he enters the final year of his rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025. If he plays well this season, he could get extended by the Bills or sign a lucrative contract with another team during free agency. If he struggles, he might not get the asking price he desires.
