The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the biggest players during free agency. The team has brought in numerous big time free agents on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Most notably, the team brought in division rival Saquon Barkley on a huge deal, and Bryce Huff and C.J. Gardner Johnson on the defensive side. On Thursday night it was reported that the Eagles are also bringing in Super Bowl champion Devin White as well.
Philadelphia Eagles Signing Devin White
While the team may be dealing with an NFL investigation in regards to tampering when it came to signing Saquon Barkley, that has not stopped them from continuing to make huge moves ahead of the 2024 season. The team is signing the pro bowl linebacker Devin White to a one year deal that reportedly up to $7.5 million.
White was a second team All-Pro in 2020 and was a pro bowler in 2021. He was a key piece to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl run with Tom Brady so he has championship experience. This past season was a down year for White in all his numbers and he will look to have a bounce back year with the Eagles.
Philadelphia Eagles Shifted Their Focus To The Defense After Saquon Barkley
Devin White is just the latest defensive signing for the Eagles after they went out and grabbed Saquon Barkley. The team has now brought in Bryce Huff, Zack Baun, and C.J Gardner-Johnson. All of these are solid pick ups as the team needed much more help on the defensive side of the ball down the stretch of the past season.
The Eagles should have the chance to be a real contender next season, and they will have to continue to add defensive players in the draft as well. The Eagles will likely lose more of their defensive players in Josh Sweat and Hasson Redick, so the draft will be key in beefing up their defense in hopes for a Super Bowl run in 2024.
