The Miami Dolphins drafted Jaylen Wright in the 4th round, 120th overall of the 2024 NFL Draft. Wright impacts the Dolphins’ offense because he brings speed and the ability to be a three-down back. He will also provide depth for their running backs, joining a stacked running back tandem of Raheem Mostert, De’Von Achane, and Jeff Wilson Jr.
Wright hopes he can replicate the things he did with Tennessee.
Jaylen Wright played three college seasons with the Tennessee Volunteers.
Jaylen Wright committed to the Volunteers as a three-star recruit for the 2021 season. Wright developed into one of the best running backs in the country, rushing for 2,297 yards on 368 carries and 18 touchdowns in 34 games.
Wright served as the third-string back in his true freshman season. He played in nine games, with 409 yards on 85 carries and four touchdowns. He also had six receptions for 22 yards.

Lance Zierlein’s scouting report of Jaylen Wright.
Lance Zierlein of NFL Network did a scouting report of Wright.
“Explosive back with good size and breakaway speed. Wright’s running style is more linear than free-flowing, which limits his cut smoothness and elusiveness on the second level.
“His vision and aggression as an interior runner are just average, but that won’t stop him from putting yards on the stat sheet. He regularly bounced runs wide and beat the pursuit around the corner, so a move to a stretch-based running attack would be a natural fit, allowing his speed to shine.
“He’s capable of running with power, but he will default into finesse at times. Wright’s big-play potential and talent as a pass catcher should make him a Day 2 target as a future starter.”
The Miami Dolphins added more speed to their elite offense.
