The NFL MVP award went to Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson as everyone expected. Lamar did not have a spectacular season statistically, but he led the Ravens to the best record and beat some of the best teams in the league throughout the year. Lamar becomes just the 11th player in history to win the award multiple times joining some of the best players to ever play. However, Lamar will not win the award again unless he can get a Super Bowl.

Lamar joined the greatest quarterbacks ever by getting his second MVP, and he is now the only one on that list with no Super Bowl. Peyton Manning had also won two before ever winning the big game, but only after he won a Bowl did Manning get his 3rd MVP. Lamar joined Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, and others as the only two MVPs. The only difference between him and the rest of the group is that everyone in that group has a Super Bowl.
Lamar will not be able to win this award again if he can’t win the big one. The MVP is a regular season award but all the voters don’t just dismiss the playoff history. No player in the NFL has ever won three MVPs without winning a Super Bowl.
Lamar Jackson Needs Playoff Success For More MVPs
Lamar is a special player and he is deserving of being a two time MVP. He was also a unanimous MVP the first time he received the award. He is more than deserving of all the recognition he has gotten for his amazing play. However, now that he has accomplished those feats, the only accomplishment left is to win the big game.
Lamar will not be looked as as an MVP of the league again until he wins a Super Bowl. You cant be the most valuable player in the NFL if you are not valuable in the biggest games. Lamar and the Ravens fell flat against the Kansas City Chiefs at home, and they may not be back in that position for years to come. This was a year that they had many breaks including two of the starting quarterbacks in their own division going down to injury. If Lamar will ever get the MVP again it will only happen if he first can win the Super Bowl.
