When Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce left Taylor Swift in Sydney, Australia after just a short visit, many of her fans were critical of him. The reason he left was to continue celebrating the Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl win (and their third in five years) with his teammates in Las Vegas. He also reportedly attended a friend’s bachelor party not long after returning.
For those that have been critical of Kelce and Swift’s relationship, it was fuel to the fire in their [mistaken] belief that the football star is not good enough for the 14-time Grammy Award winner. As it turns out, though, Kelce came back stateside for a far more philanthropic reason than anyone knew.
Kansas City Chiefs Star Travis Kelce Joins Brother, Jason Kelce, at Cancer Fundraiser
According to a report by The Daily Mail, the Kansas City tight end was not just back in the States to have fun. He also traveled to Philadelphia to visiting his brother, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce. While the two visiting the family barber was a topic that made the rounds on social media, it was an event that the two attended that should get the most attention.
Brendan McDermott was a 38-year old man who died of colorectal cancer. His family was holding an event to raise money and awareness at a local fire station. The Kelce Brothers decided to make an appearance, donning shirts and caps with #TeamRectify on them:
“i’ll just leave this here. these two are awesome. i know brendan is smiling down right now. some legends wearing #teamrectify hats,” McDermott’s in-law Jess Viola captioned her carousel of photos from the big day.
