Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams was a part of many trade rumors as the deadline was approaching. The team ultimately decided to not trade him away even though several teams around the league made good offers for him. A report has surfaced that the New York Jets made an offer that they thought Las Vegas could not refuse but it was declined by the time the deadline.

Davante Adams Trade Rumors
If this trade were to happen, it would have shaken up the entire league, especially in the AFC. If Adams was traded to New York, it would mean that he would reunite with his old quarterback whom he played with for the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers. Although Rodgers is still injured, a move like this would certainly motivate him to try and come back even sooner than we think.
The Rodgers-Adams duo was one of if not the best in the NFL during its tenure. The two combined for 7,285 total yards, 595 caught passes, and 66 touchdowns in 105 games played together. Adams has come out and said that he and Rodgers miss each other greatly, which fueled this trade rumor even more. Unfortunately, this trade did not happen, and we will have to wait for the offseason for another chance of this happening.
Las Vegas Raiders Changes
Once the trade deadline ended, Las Vegas made some drastic changes to its organization. They fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler on the same day the deadline ended. The interim head coach for the team will be former linebackers coach Antonio Pierce. They also named rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell as the new starter amid Jimmy Garoppolo‘s struggles.
Las Vegas is currently sitting at a 3-5 record and sits in third place in the AFC West. They will be hoping the changes to the coaching staff will give the team the boost that they desperately need. As for the Jets, they are at 4-3 on the season and also in third place in their division. This trade would have propelled New York to the next level offensively, but it looks like they will have to continue to wait for Rodgers to come back for more offensive success.
