The Atlanta Falcons have weapons on offense, but inferior quarterback play has held the team back over the last two seasons, finishing 7-10 in 2022 and 2023. Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder started the majority of those two seasons.
Marcus Mariota started the first 13 games of 2022 before he got benched and underwent season-ending knee surgery. Ridder replaced Mariota in the last four games of 2022 and started in 13 of their 17 games in 2023. Both quarterbacks are no longer on the roster, as Mariota got released in 2023, and Ridder got traded to the Cardinals in 2024.
