The Cleveland Browns came out with a massive statement in Week 1. This is after they took down Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in an eye-opening 24-3 blowout in their first game of the new season.
Joe Cool was supposed to come into this game to prove that he deserves to be the highest-paid player in NFL history after singing that mind-blowing $275 million extension with Cincinnati. Well, it is clear that Cleveland did not read the script.
Cleveland Browns Go Full Savage on Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals on Twitter
Things got so bad for Cincinnati that head coach Zac Taylor decided to yank Burrow from the game with more than five minutes still remaining in the fourth quarter. Thanks to Cleveland’s tremendous defense on the evening, Burrow and the Bengals’ offense looked completely out of sorts. Needless to say, Cincinnati did not see any return on their record-breaking investment in Week 1.
For good measure, the Browns‘ social media team decided to go full savage on the Bengals on Twitter shortly after the game:

Naturally, Cleveland just had to use a clip of that game-changing Myles Garrett sack on Burrow early in the fourth quarter. Cincinnati still had a glimmer of hope up until that point, but Garrett just had to make sure that there wasn’t going to be any comeback on the evening.

Naturally, the mean streets of Twitter also went in hard on Burrow and the Bengals after seeing them fumble the ball significantly in their season opener:

The silver lining here for Cincinnati is that they return to action next Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, which will give them an opportunity to bounce back after this devastating loss. They will need to dust themselves off quickly, though, with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens also looking to score their first win of the campaign following a disappointing 25-9 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 1.
The Browns, on the other hand, will want to keep their foot on the gas against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2.
