I write about college football, it's past, present, and future. I cover Ohio State, BYU, the Big Ten, national college awards, and the MAC. The Ohio State Buckeyes and the BYU Cougars are my ride and die teams and I admit my heart is swayed toward the Scarlet and Gray and Royal Blue. I love my state of Ohio.

Author’s Note: These are not the official Big Ten Players of the Week, but my Big Ten Players of the Week as a writer for Gridiron Heroics. Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week:  C.J. Stroud, Ohio State, Quarterback, Junior. Stroud played like Stroud as Ohio State beat Wisconsin 52-21. Stroud was 17 of 27 for 281 yards and 5 touchdowns. For the 2022 season, he is 79 of 112 for 1,222 yards and 16 touchdowns. Stroud has been so good in the first four games it leaves observers wondering about the quality of his opponents. But those naysayers will…

He is the clear front runner right now for the Heisman. Bryce Young, Alabama, Quarterback, Junior. Young was 25 of 36 for 385 yards and 4 touchdowns in Alabama’s 55-3 victory over Vanderbilt.…

For those of you who are first-time readers, welcome! Here is a link explaining my process of how I recap BYU games while paying respect to the rich historical tradition of the BYU Cougars I love. -Luke Staley-Tyler Allgeier Rusher of the Game: Miles Davis. Davis did not run like a freshman at all. Coach Sitake said between Davis, Katoa, and Brooks he just wanted to go mainly with the guy with the hot hand and that was Miles Davis. Davis had 13 carries for 131 yards running and 4 catches for 31 yards receiving. His biggest moment was on the Unga-Williams…

For those of you who are first-time readers, welcome! Here is a link explaining my process of how I recap Buckeye games while paying respect to the rich historical tradition of the team I love, The Ohio State Buckeyes. Welcome to Game 4 View From the Couch Ohio State vs. Wisconsin. -Favorite Stats of the Game: Ohio State was 8 of 12 on 3rd and 4th downs. The Buckeye offense was 7 of 11 on 3rd down and 1 of 1 on 4th down in their 52-21 win against Wisconsin. I love this stat because this is the kind of football…

For those of you who are first-time readers, welcome! Here is a link explaining my process of how I recap BYU games while paying respect to the rich historical tradition of the BYU Cougars I love. -It Was Over When: The final nail in the coffin was when BYU closed it to 18 points and they kicked it away to Oregon, instead of trying an onside kick to give themselves another shot at an offensive possession. Much to Oregon’s delight, they were able to run the ball and the clock and crush any momentum or hope BYU had left, and…

Heisman Watch The Leaders: Stetson Bennett, Georgia, Quarterback, Senior. Bennett was 16 of 23 for 284 yards and 2 touchdowns and added 3 carries for 36 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground. Bennett’s the best player on the best team in the country and he’s playing like the champion he is. For the season Bennett is 65 of 88 for 952 yards and 8 total touchdowns. C.J. Stroud, Ohio State, Quarterback, Junior. Stroud was 22 of 27 for 367 yards and 5 touchdown passes in the Buckeyes’ 77-21 win over Toledo. Stroud’s Heisman resume looks good thus far in…

Author’s Note: These are not the official Big Ten Players of the Week, but my Big Ten Players of the Week as a writer for Gridiron Heroics. Co-Offensive Players of the Week: Nicholas Singleton, Penn State, Running Back, Freshman. This guy is the best running back Penn State has had since some guy named Saquon Barkley, who I hear was ok (Sarcasm, Barkley is the Penn State GOAT at running back). On only 10 carries Singleton had 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the road, in an SEC school’s house, as a true freshman. The sky is the limit for…

Here is a link explaining my process of how I recap BYU games while paying respect to the rich historical tradition of the BYU Cougars I love. -Luke Staley-Tyler Allgeier Rusher of the Game: Lopini Katoa. Katoa only had 9 carries for 26 yards and 1 catch for 12 yards but he answered the bell when it was needed the most. He punched the ball into the end zone from 3 yards out to give the Cougars the decisive go-ahead score on what was the Unga-Williams Run of the Game. -John…

Heisman Watch The Leaders: Stetson Bennett, Georgia, Quarterback, Senior.Bennett went 24 of 35 for 300 yards and 2 total touchdowns against Samford as Georgia got the win 33-0. Georgia isn’t a high-scoring offense by nature but a couple of 300+ yards and 2+ touchdown games for Bennett has him at the top of the list right now. C.J. Stroud, Ohio State, Quarterback, Junior.Stroud was 16 of 24 for 351 yards and 4 touchdowns as Ohio State beat Arkansas State 45-12. Stroud was without two of his top four wide receivers including their best, Jaxon Smith-Njigba but Stroud did what was…

Author’s Note: These are not the official Big Ten Players of the Week, but my Big Ten Players of the Week as a writer for Gridiron Heroics. Offensive Player of the Week: Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State, Wide Receiver, Sophomore. Harrison had 7 catches for 184 yards and 3 touchdown catches as he became the main target for C.J. Stroud. On a day many big teams lost or struggle, Ohio State did not, and that was in a large part thanks to the incredible game of Marvin Harrison Jr. Honorable Mention: C.J. Stroud, Ohio State, Quarterback, Junior. Stroud went 16…
