I write about college football, it's past, present, and future. I cover Ohio State, BYU, the Big Ten, national college awards, and the MAC. The Ohio State Buckeyes and the BYU Cougars are my ride and die teams and I admit my heart is swayed toward the Scarlet and Gray and Royal Blue. I love my state of Ohio.

There are many prominent BYU football players in the NFL going into the 2022 season. The famous and popular video game, Madden ’23 has rated most of them and while players have to ignore ratings and plow ahead in the great game of football, we fans can see how are favorite players are rated, what they’ve done recently, and what we can expect in 2022. Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons, Running Back, Rookie  – Rating: 67 Allgeier is a rookie this season with the Falcons as Atlanta tries to rebuild with youth. With fellow rookies Desmond Ridder of Cincinnati and Drake…

The 2022 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List was released. The Lombardi Award is very unique in that it can go to both offensive and defensive players but only to linemen and linebackers. I’m hopeful that this season an offensive lineman wins the award since it’s been 26 years since that last offensive lineman (the Ohio State legend Orlando Pace) won. Here are the players on this year’s list. Jayson Ademilola, Notre Dame, S-Sr DL Praise Amaewhule, UTEP, Rs, Jr DE Darren Anders, Bowling Green, Sr ILB Will Anderson Jr., Alabama, Jr OLB Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Kansas State, Jr DE Clark Barrington,…

The Big Ten West Illinois Chase Brown. The Illini’s thousand-yard rusher returns and looks to be the strength that the team leans on. A Brett Bielema-coached football team wants to run the ball, run the ball, and then run the ball some more. The guy to lead that charge is Jon Cornish Trophy Candidate (the award given to college football’s best Canadian player) Chase Brown. Brown had 170 attempts for 1,005 yards, 5 touchdowns, and a solid 5.9 yards per carry average. Expect those numbers to grow and be the foundation for the Illini in year two of Brett Bielema.…

EAST Indiana Jack Tuttle and Connor Bazelak are in a tight race for starting quarterback for the Hoosiers. The Missouri transfer, Bazelak looks to have the lead as he has more time on the field to give him an edge. Bazelak completed 479 of his 722 passes for 5,058 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions during his time as the Tigers’ signal caller. The Hoosiers need Bazelak to improve those numbers to compete in the mighty Big Ten East and get back to their 2020 form of not only making a bowl game but fighting for a division crown. Maryland…
