On Thursday, the Los Angeles Chargers signed a Pro Bowl wide receiver they had been eyeing before the 2024 NFL Draft. The move will help to replace the firepower the Chargers lost this offseason as they transition into the Jim Harbaugh era.

The Chargers came into the offseason with limited cap space. They prioritized keeping star defenders Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack over offense. The Chargers released Mike Williams (who signed with the New York Jets) and traded Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears.
The Chargers added Ladd McConkey, Brenden Rice and Cornelius Johnson in the draft to help provide quarterback Justin Herbert with a long-term solution at the wide receiver position. Fortunately for Herbert, the Chargers signed a veteran for the upcoming season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Chark in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He’s also played for the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers.
At 27, Chark has started in 51 games and played in 69. He’s recorded 212 receptions for 3,069 yards and 23 touchdowns during his six-year NFL career. He earned a Pro Bowl nomination for the 2019 season.
