Super Bowl 57 is in five days at the time of writing this article, and the Eagles vs Chiefs matchup is poised to be an offensive showdown for the ages. Each team features a young star quarterback, a variety of weapons, and an elite offensive line, setting the stage for a shootout. However, don’t let the talent of the offenses distract you from these defensive units. Each is filled with stars and can take over a game if need be, adding to the unpredictability of this matchup. Let’s take a deeper dive into each unit. Eagles vs Chiefs: A Defensive…

The Super Bowl is set with an Eagles vs Chiefs matchup in Arizona. Throughout the season, the two teams’ offenses have looked like the most explosive units in the league, foreshadowing the battle taking place on Sunday. Featuring the youngest quarterback matchup in Super Bowl history, each team is highlighted by youth and playmaking ability, although they typically find production through different means. However, my words don’t hold much weight–in this exercise, let’s look at what the stats say about each squad. Following their first-round bye, the Eagles finally have a playoff opponent: the division-rival New York Giants. Eagles vs Giants has already been played twice this year with Philadelphia sweeping the regular season series. However, the Giants enter this game with all the momentum after an upset win over Minnesota in the wildcard round, giving this game some much needed hype. The teams have obviously seen each other countless times throughout the years. However, this is just the fifth time the teams will have met in the playoffs. The Eagles lead the all-time series 91-87-2, and as you’ll see below, the…

About a week ago, I wrote an article predicting who I thought would clinch the last three playoff spots. Let’s just say that didn’t go so well. I correctly predicted the Jaguars to beat the Titans, but after the Dolphins won in lackluster fashion and the Packers fell to the Lions, neither Pittsburgh nor Green Bay were able to prove my psychic abilities. But I won’t go down that easy. As this week is the NFL wildcard round, I’ve decided to try my hand at predicting outcomes yet again, this time, hopefully, with better luck. 12 teams will play in…

Well ladies and gents, it’s officially that time: the NFL playoffs are here. 32 teams started the season with Super Bowl aspirations, but now, only 14 remain to battle for the title. In one of the wildest NFL seasons in recent memory, this year’s playoffs seem destined for the same fate, leading to one major question: who really is the best? In a month’s time, that question will be unarguably answered. However, for now, we’ve got all the time in the world to speculate. Below are Kyle Starrett’s power rankings headed into the postseason. 14. Seattle Seahawks As the last…

The NFL season is reaching its conclusion… or at least for half the league’s teams. In seven days, there will only be 14 teams left to compete for a Lombardi trophy. 11 have already clinched their spots in the NFL playoffs–13 have been eliminated–but there are still three spots left unclaimed. Eight teams will battle for them in week 18 with different pathways to secure their spots, but as of now, it’s a tossup as to who sneaks in. This leaves plenty of time for speculation, and that’s just what I’m here to do today. If you want a better…

The Eagles vs Packers contest ended with a 40-33 win for the men in all black, marking the tenth Philadelphia victory this season. Putting aside a few boneheaded mistakes, the Eagles offense put on a clinic, scoring 40 points on the back of 500 total yards, 363 of them on the ground. Truthfully, despite the mere seven-point differential in the final score, Philadelphia dominated this game, looking like the better team from beginning to end. And yet, the game was still far from perfect. The Eagles won, obviously that is something to cheer about, but for the fourth week in…

The Philadelphia Eagles sign Linval Joseph (DT) after weeks of struggling to stop the run. Howie Roseman and the Eagles front office decided to make a change, signing the two-time all-pro to a one-year deal on Wednesday. After Jordan Davis went down with a high ankle sprain in week eight, the Eagles defensive front has struggled. Davis has proven himself to be the Eagles’ best run defender at nose tackle, so his absence has been deeply felt over the past two weeks. Joseph, who was drafted by the Giants before playing with the Vikings and Chargers, is in his 13th…
