Hey guys, I'm Evan Davis and I write for the New York Jets. I also write about other football related material. I also have my own blog Big Bag Productions where I talk mainly football and basketball.

The New York Jets for most of the season have been carried by their defense and solid special teams under second year head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets offense can’t get the quarterback position right this season and it’s holding back an offense with a brilliant play caller in Mike Lafleur, nice young weapons in the receiving core, and in the backfield. According to Billy Riccette of Jets Wire, the Jets at one point in the season were ranked dead last in offense by Pro Football Focus with a grade of 62.4. Their passing grade only ranked above the Chicago…

There are not many positives from a Week One loss to a team that was expected to beat you by double digits and did exactly that. The game wasn’t close early on and continued to be that way for most of the game. Lamar Jackson did whatever he wanted passing the football and Jets almost did nothing about it. However, there are positives performances that Jets fans can be proud of this week and these are the players/units that are deserving of praise for their performances against the Ravens despite losing the game. QB Joe Flacco The ageless veteran QB…

Last season, Mike White got hot for a few games while Zach Wilson missed four games. He played pretty well during that stretch in relief but this preseason, he’s severely getting outplayed by another QB. That QB is Chris Streveler and he has been playing lights out this preseason. He has marched down the field and led the Jets offense into the end zone in games they didn’t plan to play him in. That is making the most of your opportunities and staying ready in case the team needs him to step on the field. White has failed to do…

Two of the three first round draft picks general manager Joe Douglas made this year were on the defensive side of the ball. He very well may have gotten the best players at their respective positions selecting Jermaine Johnson II and Sauce Gardner. Making more moves on the defensive side of the ball in the offseason will help these two potentially share Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Improvement and better play within the front seven should help Johnson and Gardner showing that he’s at least starter level corner will go a long way. Johnson will get reps early this…

Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur is already a rising star in the coaching ranks in the NFL. The one thing that is starting to stand out in his offense is how quarterbacks are able to thrive in this offense. All four quarterbacks that the Jets put onto the field last season were close to exceptional in his offense. Jets fans saw the offense flourish in the small relief snaps that Josh Johnson played. They also saw it in the game that Joe Flacco started. The offense really started to show in the four games that Zach Wilson missed, which could…

The Jets wide receiver room is full of young talented guys with the additions of first round pick Garrett Wilson and undrafted free agent Calvin Jackson Jr. Before this year, the Jets spent draft picks on Denzel Mims in 2020 and Elijah Moore in 2021 while signing veteran Corey Davis to a four-year deal in 2021. They added Braxton Berrios in 2019 after he was cut from the Patriots. The Jets receivers should make noise this year but Zach Wilson’s job isn’t anywhere near secure and Robert Saleh is a year away from his job security diminishing if this team doesn’t…

Quinnen Williams has arguably been the best player on a Jets defense that has been sneaky good the last few years.  One of the more overlooked storylines in the NFL this offseason has been about a potential contract extension with the Jets. He has been one of the better defensive tackles in the league since entering the league, ranking sixth among interior defensive linemen in sacks and fifth in stops. A good amount of Williams’ work doesn’t show on the basic stat sheet, which includes pressures to the QB and QB hits. What does this have to do with him being…

The New York Jets have a tricky QB situation or maybe even a controversy some would say. The issues stems from Mike White’s play while former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco and 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson were injured. White had inspiring play throughout those four weeks, which includes a shocking win over the Bengals in his first start. He threw for 405 yards in his debut and played considerably well in the other three games, which had Jets fans wondering if he was their QB of the future. However, that noise went quiet after Wilson’s strong finish to…

The New York Jets have been habitual bottom feeders for over a decade now but the future seems to be bright in New York after they nailed the last two drafts. They are the popular pick around the league to have a breakout season after only winning 6 games in the last two seasons. It’s easy to see why the Jets are a dark horse pick to make the playoffs. They have the second year version of Zach Wilson, an overlooked backfield, an underrated receiving corps, and seem to have fixed the offensive line.  The Jets should immediately field a…
