Return To The New York Jets Lineup
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Rodgers is likely to be cleared to play this upcoming week, which would be a historical recovery. Rodgers went down on the first drive of the first game of the season against the Buffalo Bills and was originally ruled out for the rest of the 2023 regular season. However, because of his extraordinary recovery efforts, he has been cleared to practice with the team for the last couple of weeks. Now, he has a chance to play in the game against the Washington Commanders.
The veteran and Super Bowl champion quarterback has hinted at a potential comeback this year throughout the season, but nothing was set in stone by the team. He was seen throwing bombs during pregame warmups a few weeks ago, which led to many realizing that Rodgers was very serious about a potentially early return to the field.
Aaron Rodgers Career
Since entering the league in 2005, Rodgers has amounted to 59,055 passing yards, 475 touchdowns, and just 105 interceptions. He won the Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 2011 when they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25. He will be remembered forever as a Packer, but he joined the Jets just this season, and will likely finish his career with New York.
The Jets are 5-8 and are in third place in the AFC East. Their playoff chances this season are slim but are not impossible in the tight AFC wild-card race. Will Rodgers play in next week’s game, or will the team decide to savor him for next season?
