Adrian Martinez UFL Birmingham Stallions

UFL Week 8 Betting Preview

The 2024 UFL regular season is nearing an end as we enter Week 8. The playoffs are starting to take form, and some teams can make a jump in the standings. There is still plenty to play for teams out of the playoff race as players will try to put out the best of their abilities on film in hopes of receiving an NFL training camp invite. Here is a betting preview for the UFL in Week 8.

UFL Week 8: Memphis Showboats @ Michigan Panthers

The first matchup this weekend is the (1-6) Memphis Showboats facing off against the (5-2) Michigan Panthers. The Panthers have been one of the league’s best and are in second place in the USFL conference. The Showboats have had a tough season finding themselves tied for last in the USFL conference.

The struggles for the Showboats come on the offensive side of the ball. The Showboats struggle to protect the pass and can’t generate points at a pace to keep up with the rest of the league. The Panthers’ strength comes on the defensive side of the ball, with their ability to stop the run. The Panthers also have a stellar rushing attack, led by running back Wes Hills.

Expect the Panthers to play stout defense and keep the ball on the ground on offense which should be an easy win for the Panthers.

UFL Week 8: Houston Roughnecks @ Birmingham Stallions

The second matchup on Saturday night sees the first-place (7-0) Birmingham Stallions against the (1-6) Houston Roughnecks. The Stallions look to keep their win streak alive while the Roughnecks will try to end the season with something positive.

The Stallions are having their best season ever and haven’t shown any weaknesses or signs of struggle this season. Adrian Martinez is having an MVP-type season in his first year with Birmingham and leads one of the best passing attacks in the UFL.

Despite their record, the Roughnecks have shown the ability to play good defense, but the consistency is lacking. Blown coverages and missed tackles have been costly for the Houston defense throughout the year.

As the 16-point spread shows, this should be a blowout victory for the Stallions, in a game where Adrian Martinez shines.

UFL Week 8: D.C. Defenders @ St. Louis Battlehawks

Game Lines: Battlehawks -7.5; Total: 44.5
AJ McCarron, gets another XFL win in the XFL 2023 season.

The first matchup of the Sunday slate is with two classic XFL teams, the (3-4) D.C. Defenders will travel to St. Louis to take on the (5-2) Battlehawks. The Defenders will need to be nearly perfect the rest of the season to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Battlehawks will look to stay on top of the XFL division and clinch a playoff birth.

The Battlehawks are stellar all around and are led by their high-powered passing attack with quarterback AJ McCarron under center. The Defenders have been average all season with no real firepower to their team.

If the Defenders can slow down AJ McCarron they will have a fighting chance, but that is going to be a tall task.

UFL Week 8: Arlington Renegades @ San Antonio Brahmas

Game Lines: Brahmas -3.5; Total: 46

The last matchup of the weekend is the (1-6) Arlington Renegades taking on the (5-2) San Antonio Brahmas at the Alamodome. The Brahmas are tied for first in the XFL division and could jump into first with a win and a Battlehawks loss.

Despite their record, the Renegades have one of the best offenses in the UFL led by quarterback Luis Perez, who is the leader in passing yards for the UFL. The Brahmas have one of the best pass rushes in the UFL and will need to put pressure on Perez in this matchup to slow down the Renegades offense.

Luis Perez versus the Brahmas’ pass rush will be the deciding factor in the outcome of what should be a high-scoring affair down in San Antonio.

A two-leg parlay of the Memphis Showboats @ Michigan Panthers under 47.5 and the Arlington Renegades @ San Antonio Brahmas over 46 gives odds of +264. (Meaning a $100 bettor would win $264).
