The Buffalo Bills are revamping their wide receiver room this season. Earlier this offseason, the team decided to trade Stefon Diggs, who made the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons with the team, to the Houston Texans. Gabe Davis was not brought back and he subsequently signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In order to replace these pass catchers, Buffalo decided to sign Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins in free agency. They also drafted highly touted wide receiver Keon Coleman in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Additionally, they also signed two-time Super Bowl Champion Marquez Valdes-Scantling (MVS).
The Buffalo Bills Signed Free Agent Wide Receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Earlier this week, news broke that the Bills were hosting former Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes Scantling. After a quick visit with the team, MVS signed a one-year deal that is reportedly worth $4.5 million.
MVS is a two-time Super Bowl Champion, having won the Big Game with the Chiefs in each of the past two seasons. In their most recent Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers, MVS had three catches for 20 yards and a touchdown.
In the 2022 AFC Championship Game, MVS had six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. Two year prior, in the NFC Championship which the Packers lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he had four receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Signed with the Buffalo Bills Because of Quarterback Josh Allen

Earlier this afternoon, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the reason MVS chose to sign with Buffalo, despite having visited with other teams, was because of quarterback Josh Allen:
Part of the back-story with Marquez Valdes-Scantling signing with Buffalo: Josh Allen had him over to his house for dinner Monday night as part of the receiver’s free agent visit. The two hit it off, and MVS decided that night he wanted to be a Bill. https://t.co/FI95Y1EeW8

As seen above, Allen invited MVS over to his house as part of the free agent visit. MVS liked how well he got along with the Pro Bowl quarterback and decided he did not want to visit anymore teams.
When it comes to wide receivers, few can boast having been pass catching targets for multiple Pro Bowl quarterbacks. MVS was drafted in the fifth round by the Packers in 2018 and immediately started catching passes from future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
When he left Green Bay as a free agent, he signed with the Chiefs and caught passes from another future Hall of Famer in Patrick Mahomes.
Now he will be catching passes from Allen, whom many consider to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
