In his first year under center for the Tennessee Titans, Will Levis didn’t have the weapons he needed, so it’s no wonder he has endorsed the idea of adding a couple of them this summer, and the two that he has in mind are Calvin Ridley and Marvin Harrison Jr.
Speaking with Robert Griffin III in the RG3 and The Ones podcast, the former Kentucky signal-caller made the pitch for Ridley – who is set to be a free agent soon – since he has experience playing under their new offensive coordinator Nick Holz.
“Yeah, he’s definitely an awesome player. I got to see firsthand him torch us a couple of times,” admitted Levis. “It would be cool to have someone of his caliber out there playing. I’m sure he’s comfortable with Holz.”
“But it’s not my decision. I don’t really have any pull. But I don’t care, even if I never have a shot at playing with him, I’d still like to throw him some balls. That would be fun,” he added.
In the two meetings between the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, with both teams winning one game apiece, Ridley racked up 13 catches for 209 yards and three touchdowns.
Will Levis also spoke highly of Marvin Harrison Jr.
In his conversation with Robert Griffin III, Levis was also asked if there was anyone in college whom he would want to play with in the future, and his answer was Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr., who is widely considered the top wide receiver in the upcoming NFL Draft.
But with most NFL mock drafts having Harrison Jr. selected within the Top 5, it’s unlikely that the Tennessee Titans will be able to get him unless they trade up with their No. 7 pick.
“He’s an exciting player. I don’t know if we’re going to have a shot to take him, but he’s been one of the few guys I’ve watched the last couple of years that I’ve seen from the outside looking in that I’ve been impressed with,” said Levis.
“He catches everything. Everything looks easy for him. Doesn’t matter where the ball is. He’s one of those guys that’s just got the sureness of – if the ball is in the air – he’s going to come down with it,” he added.
Following the departure of Derrick Henry, expect the Tennessee Titans to have a less run-heavy offense next season, so listening to Will Levis’ suggestions is a good place to start.
