Rashee Rice is now cooperating with Dallas authorities.
The star Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, who played his college ball SMU in Dallas, was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run accident on the evening of March 30, 2024.
Rashee Rice Has Retained Attorney Royce West and Is Cooperating with Authorities
Per Fox News:
“Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is working with authorities in Texas following a car crash he was linked to over the weekend.
“A statement from his attorney, Royce West, a member of Texas Senate representing the 23rd District, was provided to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday,” the statement from West said.”

Rice’s Background
Rice was born in Philadelphia, PA, but grew up in North Richland Hills, which is located near Dallas. Coming out of high school, he was a highly sought after recruit. He decided to stay near home and became a Mustang.
In 2022, Rice was a second-team All-American wide receiver for the SMU Mustangs. He was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He is now a Super Bowl Champion, and he caught two passes from Patrick Mahomes on the Chiefs’ game-winning drive in the Super Bowl.
Hit-And-Run Is a Crime in Texas
Pursuant to Texas State law, a hit and run is a crime. “[A] hit and run [offense] occur[s] when a driver involved in a motor vehicle accident fails to stop and provide their contact and insurance information to the other driver(s)….”
The relevant statute is Texas Transportation Code § 550.002.
