Tua Tagovailoa saw his season end prematurely due to concussions. He has been in the concussion protocol for a long time due to his three concussions. His first was against the Buffalo Bills in week 3 which caused much controversy. In week 4, just four days later on a Thursday night game against the Bengals, Tagovailoa was concussed again. He sat out for a while until his season ended on Christmas Day with another concussion against the Packers. After six weeks, Tua Tagovailoa has finally cleared the concussion protocol.

Tua Tagovailoa Finally Clears Concussion Protocol
Ian Rappaport of NFL Network was the first to report that Tagovailoa had cleared the protocols. He did not clear in time to suit up for the playoff game against the Bills. Once the season ended, many wondered if the Dolphins would try to move on from Tua. The Dolphins have said that they are committed to him as the future QB in Miami. He can now begin normal offseason activities with the team.

What Does The Future Hold?
This is a scary situation. The reason for people questioning whether the Dolphins should move on from Tagovailoa was not because of his performance. Tagovailoa’s 2022 season ended with 3,528 passing yards, 25 touchdown passes, and eight interceptions. The Miami offense was one of the most explosive in the league. The three concussions in three months have many people concerned. His long-term health is in question and one concussion next season could end his career.
