Bill Parcells Warns Dolphins about Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for 2023

It is no secret that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has people doubting him left and right on his capabilities with the Miami Dolphins. He was out for four games due to injury for the last two seasons.

Bill Parcells is no different and thinks that the Dolphins shouldn’t be putting all of their eggs into one basket. Parcells recently told The 33rd Team:

“I’m not certain they have stability at the quarterback position. They seem to think they do. Tua Tagovailoa looks good from time to time, but he was hurt in college, and he’s been hurt a couple of times in the pros. I’m not sure they can rely on him.”

Tagovailoa’s performance landed him fifth in passing yards per game (272.9) and tied eighth in touchdowns (25) this season. If Tua Tagovailoa would have been healthy enough to play throughout the whole season, his rank would have been even more impressive. But I know. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.  However, his concussions in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals and Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers didn’t allow for us to see him perform at this true potential. That is, if he has the potential to play in the NFL without being regularly injured.

This is why Bill Parcells doubts that he is the only fit for the quarterback position on the Dolphins team. Between his concussions and injuries to the fingers, ribs, knee, ankle, and hip, it is fair to assume that the injury trend will continue. Of course, we hope it doesn’t, but it would be a little blinded to say that the Dolphins can totally depend on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to stay healthy.

Whether or not Tua is the “all-in” choice will depend on his ability to stay healthy. However, this does doesn’t lie completely on him alone. The Dolphins will have to protect him, and the stars will have to perfectly align for this to happen.
