Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been the biggest celebrity couple story to hit the airwaves in more than a decade. They have completely overshadowed power couples like Prince Harry and Megan or Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
Kelce and Swift’s relationship that began around the start of the 2023 NFL football season has captivated the nation and even the world.
While there have certainly been haters along the way or conspiracy theorists who believe the global pop superstar has been hand-picked by the NFL to continue to draw new fans, so therefore the Kansas City Chiefs had to win last year’s Super Bowl, the overwhelming reaction to their relationship has been positive.
As of now, it doesn’t seem like Travis and Taylor will suddenly fizzle out by the start of the 2024 NFL season.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are by far the most discussed couple in both sports and entertainment right now, with the pop star hooking up with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end last season. The pairing has been great for the Chiefs and the NFL, as the league has attracted millions of new eyes on the strength of the relationship alone.
Now, with the Chiefs going for their third Super Bowl victory in a row, one can only imagine the cameras will be locked on Taylor’s every move in 2024 as her boyfriend attempts to pull off a feat that’s never been done in NFL history with his team.
But one NFL wife isn’t thrilled about another season filled with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift as the overwhelming headline on a weekly basis.
Swift, 34, has dominated NFL coverage ever since the cat got out the bag, and Kelly Stafford has spoken for many football fans as she’s said she’s tired of it. Of course, most disagree with her as they see it as hate.
“I don’t know if I want to see another 4 months of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce coverage,” Stafford was quoted as saying by Starcade Media.
Unless something drastic happens, Stafford better get used to seeing Swift cheering for her man at Chiefs games in 2024 — and possibly much longer.
There have already been reports of the power couple considering marriage and on Tuesday, Kelce inked a contract extension that makes him the highest paid tight end in the NFL.
Taylor Swift Accused Of Being A Bad Kansas City Chiefs Fan After Travis Kelce Inks Extension
The success of NFL teams often has a to do with the salary cap and a team’s ability to both pay a franchise QB — which eats up a lot of the set number a team can spend on an annn
NFL fans often thought that Tom Brady consistently took team-friendly deals with the New England Patriots because he was married to Gisele Bundchen, one of the richest supermodels in history.
Brady and the Patriots had a ton of success as a result, as they went on to win six Super Bowls over the course of their career.
This week, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce signed a two-year contract extension with the franchise, making him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL. Kelce signed a two-year contract worth $34 million, according to reports.
Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast is wondering if Taylor Swift, a billionaire, is being a “bad” Chiefs fan because she’s not giving up some of her money to Kelce, so he can sign a more team-friendly deal.
“Is Taylor Swift being a bad Chief’s fan for not giving travis half her money so he can take a cap-friendly deal?” PFT Commenter wrote.
The podcast, hosted by Dan “Big Cat” Katz and PFT Commenter, knows what it’s doing here. They’ve often liked to poke fun at Swift and her fan base, often sparking criticism among the Swifties.
Travis Kelce, meanwhile, is overjoyed with his new contract.
He said holding out was never a consideration.
“I’m not a guy that sits out,” Kelce said on the “New Heights” podcast. “I’m not a guy that holds out. I’m a guy that loves coming into the building, and the Chiefs know that. So, for them to want to get this done for me knowing how much blood, sweat and tears that I put into this thing, I’m extremely grateful.”
In full disclosure the Barstool podcast hosts were clearly kidding and there was no indication Kelce was seeking an extension. So while Taylor Swift may continue to make more than him — and any other professional athlete on the planet — the Chiefs’ tight end will now have a nice chunk of cash to pitch in on the next date night or two.
