Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been the biggest phenomenon to hit American culture in a long time.
The perfect blend of a NFL star and global pop icon have created so many storylines nobody could have imagined when the 2023 football season kicked off.
Taylor Swift began dating Kelce after he said on his “New Heights” podcast that he had tried and failed to give her a friendship bracelet during her performance at Arrowhead Stadium. Kelce then invited her to watch him perform at the home of the Chiefs, and she surprisingly showed up for their Week 2 game against Chicago.
Swift soon became a regular at games, both home and away, frequently sitting with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Swift occasionally brought along friends, including Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
“Having Taylor as a new Chiefs fan is very unique,” Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said during Super Bowl week. “I don’t ever do an interview without someone asking me about it. I think a lot of players and coaches on the team are in the same boat. The most important thing is we’re happy for the two of them that they have found each other and have such a special relationship.”
The global pop icon was spotted several times throughout the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl win over the 49ers on Sunday. She was seen talking to Kelce’s brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in one of the private boxes that reportedly cost more than $1 million. Lana Del Rey joined the celeb-packed suite in time to catch Usher’s halftime show.
The level of celebrity and fanfare that comes with dating the biggest superstar in the world hasn’t been a walk in the park according to Travis’ brother, Jason.
Travis Kelce Had To Move Because Of Crazy Taylor Swift Fans
Jason Kelce revealed on Monday that his brother Travis was forced to move out of his house after he began dating Swift because her fans wouldn’t leave him alone.
During an appearance on The Big Podcast with Shaq, Jason was asked if he knew what fame was before Taylor Swift entered his family’s life – only the question only got about halfway out before Jason jumped in with a “no.”
“It’s crazy what it opens up opportunity-wise,” he explained. “It’s crazy to feel how much joy you bring people or how much you affect people’s daily lives.”
He then explains how Travis Kelce literally had to move because of Swift fans.
“It’s also incredibly, it has drawbacks, for sure. And Travis knows way more more than I. He had to completely move out of his house.
“People were just staying by his house. I mean, safety reasons,” Jason continued.
And the first day he moved into the new house … a gated community somebody knocks on the back window of the house.”
Jason Kelce then explained that he and his friends and family are still trying to figure out how to deal with Travis now dating one of the most recognizable people on the entire planet.
“We’re still learning,” he said. “I mean, so listen, we’ve always been big in the football world, right? Travis especially. The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that’s a whole different level. You’re in a different, it’s just an added level of, it’s a new demographic that wasn’t there before.”
Shaquille O’Neal, who is also one of the most recognizable people on the entire planet, then offered Jason some advice.
