Texas A&M DL Fadil Diggs Enters Transfer Portal
Diggs has one year of eligibility remaining and he leaves a veteran hole on the defense. He has started every game of the past two seasons and in 2023 had 36 tackles and four sacks. He had this to say in a statement to On3.
“First off, I would like to thank Texas A&M and the 12th Man for an incredible 4 years in College Station. Me and My family sincerely appreciate everything this school gave me an opportunity to do and I will forever cherish the moments that I have shared at A&M.
Secondly, I would like to thank Coach Fisher, Coach Elko, Coach Price and Coach E and all of the Coaches during my journey in affording a young kid from Camden, New Jersey an opportunity to play big time football in the SEC, which has been a dream come true.
Lastly, I want to thank all of the young men who I shared the locker room with and went to War on the field with at A&M. Our bond is unbreakable and our brotherhood is eternally cemented in my heart. It has been a true honor to be a Team Captain for the past two years, on and off the field, and I am thankful for my teammates for inspiring me to become the leader I am today.
With that said, I will be entering my name into the transfer portal. I will be starting a new chapter of my own in hopes to continue to elevate at another destination. The journey to unlocking more greatness continues…”
Concern For The Aggies
Every team expects a handful of players to enter the transfer portal. This is the nature of the current college football landscape. This is going beyond a handful of players leaving. The Aggies are bleeding talent at an alarming rate. Former five-star recruits are heading out the door and players who were key parts of the 2023 team are also leaving. New head coach Mike Elko certainly has his work cut out for him.
There is still a lot of offseason left. Elko and his staff are probably busy trying to recruit the portal themselves. Still, this is not the news that Aggies fans want to keep hearing. Once the dust settles, it will be interesting to see what is left of this team.
