The nightmare continues for the Texas A&M Aggies. There has been a mass exodus of top-tier talent in the past two days and it doesn’t show any signs of stopping. Freshman All-American offensive lineman Chase Bisontis announced he is entering the transfer portal.

Texas A&M OL Chase Bisontis Enters Transfer Portal
Bisontis was named a preseason Freshman All-American and he lived up to the hype. He was one of two Aggies to be named Freshman All-American joining linebacker Taurean York. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive lineman will be one of the top targets in the portal due to his accomplishments and having three years of eligibility left. Bisontis held down the right side of the line and now new head coach Mike Elko will have to figure something else out.
When It Rains It Pours
Some programs have not been affected by the transfer portal as much. One or two players leaving isn’t a huge issue. The problem the Aggies are having is it isn’t just a lot of players leaving. Many of these players are former five-star recruits who were supposed to be the future of the program. While this isn’t a huge surprise as a head coach change often leads to players leaving, I think Elko was hoping that he could convince at least some of them to stay.
The SEC gets tougher next year with Texas and Oklahoma joining. The Aggies want to compete for national championships but there is a lot of work to do if they are going to accomplish that goal.
