Once again, the Cleveland Browns saw themselves in the loss of common, losing to Washington 34-13. Quarterback Deshaun Watson looked horrible; making it three out of the first five games, he failed to do anything.
Watson completed 15 of his 28 passing attempts for 125 yards and a score late in the game when Washington was playing backups on both sides of the ball.
Deshaun Watson Needs To Be Benched
Many fans have called for Watson to be benched, and one former NFL quarterback also thinks it is time to sit the $230 million quarterback.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw appeared on the Fox postgame show after the Browns game ended and, asked if you would put Watson down?
– Bradshaw: “The question would be, do you put Watson down?”
– Long: “I wouldn’t put him down, I’d want to sit him.”
= Strahan: “Yeah that was a little harsh.” pic.twitter.com/0AscW4PzGD— Roberto Shenanigans (@Rob_Shenanigans) October 6, 2024
Usually, getting put down means you’re bringing your sick dog to the vet and putting it to sleep one final time, and that is what Bradshaw is trying to say: bench Watson and never let him see the field again.
Cleveland needs to change the quarterback position because Watson is not the answer, and there is no reason to keep playing him every week.
The entire locker room looks like they are done with Watson, and he has done nothing this season that should let him keep seeing the field. The Cleveland Browns season is over, and they better start looking at college quarterbacks because they will have a high draft pick next April.
