Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has gotten off to a shaky start through the first four games of the season. Last week, against the Las Vegas Raiders, he finally looked like himself and the player he was when he was a member of the Houston Texans.
Even though Watson played well, the Browns still lost, and now they are sitting at a record of 1-3, which will most likely keep them out of the playoffs unless they go on a huge winning streak.
Many have been calling for a quarterback change in Cleveland, but the offensive line and receiving core have also been major issues, and the team will have to upgrade both of those position groups first before a new quarterback comes in.
Cleveland won’t be taking a quarterback in this upcoming NFL Draft, but that didn’t stop CBS from mocking one of them in their new mock draft.
Cleveland Browns Find A New Quarterback
CBS Sports Chris Trapasso published a mock draft after Week Four, with the Cleveland Browns taking Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Trapasso has a lot of high praise for the Crimson Tide quarterback, and here are his thoughts.
Quarterbacks flying off the board quickly in this mock, just like they did in April. Milroe has noticeably improved as a passer at Alabama and plays with the utmost confidence and hustle. The eventual heir to Deshaun Watson in Cleveland.
Milroe just pulled off the biggest win of the college football season last week, beating Georgia. When you watch the Alabama quarterback play, you see many great traits, from his running ability to his arm strength.
The 21-year-old quarterback still needs more time to improve, but there is a great chance he could turn into the number one overall quarterback in this year’s draft.
