The Tennessee Titans suffered a devastating loss to the Houston Texans in overtime today. However, that may not be the only devastating loss they took in that game. There is a chance that they may lose their starting quarterback for a significant time.
Will Levis Leaves the Game With an Injury
Late in overtime, Levis took a brutal sack from the Houston Texans. This sack left him lying on the field in devastating pain. Levis looked to be dealing with a leg or ankle injury.
As a result, Levis had to go to the locker room and did not return to the game. The Titans went on to lose to the Texans. Going into this game, Levis had 1,593 passing yards and eight touchdowns in seven games. Today, Levis was 17-26 with 199 passing yards and an interception.
What Now for the Tennessee Titans?
With a loss today, the Tennessee Titans are all but eliminated from the playoffs. Their record falls to 5-9 with several teams ahead of them holding 8-6 records with three games remaining. Even if Levis’ injury is not season-ending, the Titans’ position in the standings could make them cautious with Levis the rest of the way.
Earlier this season, Levis took the starting QB job from veteran Ryan Tannehill. Ironically, he suffered an ankle injury when he lost his job to Levis. Now, a similar injury could allow Tannehill to potentially have one last go as the starting QB for the Titans.
